Our Mission
Organization for Promotion of Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OPOTEC ) was established in April 2005 by Dr. Haruo Uehara, a life-time academic and industrial researcher on OTEC and former president of Saga University in Japan. His study, research, and dedication in developing a practical OTEC system commercially has been widely recognized among island countries and areas close to the equator.

OPOTEC is dedicated to serving for those who are interested in OTEC by providing technical advice and consultation, helping to promote growth and development of networking opportunities and public awareness programs.

OPOTEC activities include research and development to promote thermal energy conversion and its multiple uses, to provide business and professional training, and to help create new business opportunities for those who are engaged with the OTEC development and interest for the improvement of sustainable energy efficiency.
